About ESOF & Science in the City:
Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) is a biannual pan-European conference dedicated to showcasing the latest developments in scientific research and innovation. ESOF 2014 will be held in Copenhagen on the 21st to the 26th of June 2014.
The event has an interdisciplinary vision and brings together scientists, business people, entrepreneurs, policy makers, science communicators and the general public to discuss new discoveries and debate the direction research is taking within sciences, humanities and social sciences.
ESOF has two distinct parts:
The ESOF Conference - A closed scientific conference of invited delegates. According to the ESOF2014.org website, it is expected to attract more than 3,500 high profile professionals from various backgrounds. 2,000 research scientists, 1,000 early career scientists, 1,000 participants from policy, science administration and industry domains and 500 from science communication and journalism are expected to attend.
Science in the City – A free public festival that is sponsored by and takes place alongside the main ESOF conference . Science in the City is aimed at opening science up to the public by presenting concepts in fun, easy to access events and exhibitions. It’s expected to draw a very large crowd of Danish and international participants. KopenLab is part of the Science in the City festival. It is estimated that XXXX people will participate in the YYY activities going on at the Carlsberg city and throughout the rest of Copenhagen.
